Lamis has been a part of the bellydance world for almost thirty years. "The joy I have felt and shared, the friendships I have made, and the memories I have experienced have given me many "Goddess" moments!"
Lamis has always liked playing "dress up" and when she sees herself in a beautiful costume that fits perfectly and in a color that she loves, she says, "that's definitely a Goddess moment!"
Whenever she's taking a dance class or a workshop and she gets that *a-ha* moment...that's when she feels like a Goddess. "It's a wonderful feeling to learn a new technique or to discover a new concept to something I've only used a certain way! I feel I get my money's worth whenever I can say..."Wow, I never thought of THAT!""
Whenever Lamis performs and it affects someone in the audience in a positive way or whenever she's having fun on stage and she sees that the audience feels it...to her that's a Goddess moment. Her stage name, Lamis, means soft to touch and the reason she chose that name is because she hoped to *touch* people while she performs.
Goddess moments for Lamis also happen while she's watching someone else dance. Be it one of her students dancing and doing well that she swells with pride; or when a good friend of hers decides to perform on stage to celebrate their 60th birthday and while she's entertaining the audience you can feel the *love* in the whole room. And lastly, when someone is dancing so beautifully that it makes her cry -"that's a Goddess moment, for sure!"
Lamis hopes to continue enjoying this dance form for many years to come. She cannot imagine her life without it. May the music play and play and play...
